Education Background
Alternative Teacher Certification!
Bachelors of Fine Arts in Psychology
Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sociology
Master of Science in School Psychology
Teaching was an unexpected calling. I grew up with educators in the my family and stayed after school most days to help my mom set up and prep her classroom. I would always tell her “I know I never wanted to be a teacher”. I was tired of school and alot of time found it difficult. I went on to college to study psychology and sociology. After graduation, I applied to many different positions in my field; however, I accepted a position at a Montessori early childhood center. Soon, I realized my passion for working and educating children. I eventually received my teaching certification and began teaching 6th grade. Two years later, I move down to the elementary level. I knew this is where I needed to be. I want to help students who struggle just as my teachers helped me. Those teachers created a positive influence in my life, providing me with the support in my strengths and weakness. I may not have my prefect days, but each day I wake up excited to go to work to see my students. I want to spark the science and history light in their hearts. I want to be the teacher I had growing up, showing them and guiding them as they find their passion! Teaching may not have been my plan, but God showed me it was his!
